An idea, response, or explanation that occurs to one after an event or decision. afterthought Noun 1. to the crash and burn of Split Enz Split Enz was a successful New Zealand band during the late 1970s and the early 1980s featuring brothers Tim Finn and Neil Finn. They achieved success with the music charts in New Zealand, Australia and Canada during the early 1980s and built a cult following elsewhere. , I find it remarkable that the band gelled as well as it did and that Neil Finn's songwriting rose to heights that the Enz never imagined. It seemed that, freed from the over-attentive oversight of brother Tim, Neil's songwriting blossomed, his spirit soared. However, with the exception of "I Love You Dawn" and "Recurring Dream," the balance of the tunes don't quite rise to the occasion, that is, unless you're a diehard House freak and can't do without. -KE |
