African music sets rhythm at farm show.


AFRICAN music African music, the music of the indigenous peoples of Africa. Sub-Saharan African music has as its distinguishing feature a rhythmic complexity common to no other region.  and dance will be a feature of this year''s Llanfyllin Show, courtesy of new president Lorna Brown.

Mrs Brown, who ran a veterinary practice in Llanfyllin for 19 years, is using her presidency to promote the links that have been established between African African

pertaining to or originating in Africa.


African buffalo
includes black Cape buffalo, red Congo buffalo and red-brown varieties from Abyssinia to Niger. See also buffalo.
 countries and the Welsh borderlands.

She is vice chairman of Dolen Ffermio (Farming Link), a network of farmers and others that promotes awareness of problems faced by farmers in developing countries.

Guests attending Mrs Brown''s President''s Lunch, at Oldfields Farm, Four Crosses, on Sunday, August 9, will get a taste of African music when a small group of Liverpool-based Nigerian musicians provides the entertainment.

Then, on show day on August 15 , she has invited a larger group of Ugandan to perform Drum Arts Ngoma Ngoma may refer to:
  • Ngoma, Zambia
  • Ngoma Airport
  • Ngoma Ward, Ukerewe District, Tanzania
  • Ngoma, Rwanda, a district of the East Province in Rwanda, centred around Kibungo
  • Ngoma is an alternate term for the yuka
 from London and Embaire Strikes Back from Leamington Spa.

Mrs Brown, who visits Uganda twice a year to monitor the projects, said: "Living in rural Wales, we can sometimes be a little bit insular and not consider how dependent we are on other countries for our food and livestock feed.".
