African Union: Abdelkader Messahel reasserts Algeria's positions.

It is situated at c.8,000 ft (2,440 m) on a well-watered plateau surrounded by hills and mountains. , at the meeting of the African Union African Union (AU), international organization established in 2002 by the nations of the former Organization of African Unity (OAU). The AU is the successor organization to the OAU, with greater powers to promote African economic, social, and political integration,  Executive Council, Algeria's positions on a number of issues affecting directly the African continent.

aMinister for Maghreb and African Affairs Abdelkader Messahel has reasserted Thursday in Addis Ababa, at the meeting of the African Union Executive Council, Algeria's positions on a number of issues affecting directly the African continent. Messahel, who is leading the Algerian delegation, has emphasized four main topics, following the report presented by AU Commission Chairman Jean Ping Jean Ping (born November 24, 1942[1]) has been the foreign minister of Gabon since 1999. He also held that position briefly during 1994.

Ping previously held a succession of positions in the government; he was director of the cabinet from 1984 to 1990, then became
 on the activities of the Commission over the last six months, including the situation in Somalia, Sudan and Mauritania, as well as regards partnership between Africa and other regions of the world.aaa
