African Americans near and far.I HAVE BEEN READING BLACK ENTERPRISE off and on for 20 years and enjoy the many positive stories about African Americans. However, I have a special request. There are very few stories about successful African Americans who live in Washington State, the Upper Rockies, and Alaska. My wife and I went on a cruise to Alaska in May. In Sitka, Alaska, I met a black park ranger. In Ketchikan, Alaska, we met a black couple selling sightseeing tours in that area. I realize that our numbers may be sparse in some of these areas, however it is imperative that those of us who are doing well are recognized, regardless of where we live.
