African American Medical Network Teams up with Community Life Improvement Program to Provide Patient Education at Health Fairs across U.S.

LOS ANGELES -- AFMN, Inc. (Pink Sheets:AFNN AFNN - Association of Florida Native Nurseries) and its subsidiary, African American Medical Network, Inc. ("African American Medical Network" or the "Company"), announced today that it will support the efforts of the Community Life Improvement Program (CLIP) to reduce health risks in the African American community. Founded by Dr. Randall Maxey, Chairman of the Company's Medical Advisory Board and Co-Chair of the National Commission on Healthcare Disparities, CLIP's first health fair was recently conducted in Los Angeles at the AME Church's Western Region's Annual Southern California Conference.

"Because this event was so successful, the church leadership has asked us to conduct additional health fairs in Kansas City and Denver and I'm looking forward to taking our program to other AME Regional Conferences," commented Dr. Maxey, who is also a Past President of the National Medical Association. "In fact, our on-site data showed that more than 50% of those who went through the health screenings had critical health issues."

Each health fair consists of patient evaluations and screenings for diabetes, hypertension, heart disease, high cholesterol and obesity, and includes physician-conducted exit assessments that enable participants to be counseled on health matters of specific concern. African American Medical Network's patient education programming provides an informational background for attendees as they move from station to station.

The AME Church, founded in 1816, has a national membership of more than 3 million African Americans with affiliated churches located in most major U.S. cities.

According to African American Medical Network's President Charles Richardson, "This community outreach program is but one of the many marketing initiatives we are using to reach our target audience."

The Company's primary goal is to provide educational programming about medical and health issues related to the needs of African American patients. In June, African American Medical Network began monthly distribution of its educational programming on medical and health issues related to the needs of African American patients to hospitals, clinics, and doctors' offices around the country. The monthly updated DVD magazines are geared to create awareness about key diseases and the steps needed to preserve and improve the quality of life. Hosted and voiced by veteran actor Ernie Hudson, programming consists of fast-paced segments four to seven minutes long that cover pertinent healthcare topics.
