Africa gets film village.


In appreciation of the contributions that movie practitioners have made to the cultural development of Nigeria Nigeria (nījĭr`ēə), officially Federal Republic of Nigeria, republic (2006 provisional pop. 140,003,542), 356,667 sq mi (923,768 sq km), W Africa. , the Ebonyi state Location and Overview
Ebonyi State is an inland south-eastern state of Nigeria, populated primarily by Igbos. Its capital and largest city is Abakaliki. Afikpo is the second largest city.
 government has awarded its film industry with two gifts--N$5 million (U.S. $40,000) and a piece of land. The land, described as a film village and similar to a studio, has been allocated to new movie organization known as United Movie Practitioners Association of Nigeria (UMPAN). The land will be provided with access roads, water and electricity. Prince Ossy Okeke Okeke may refer to:
  • Edward Ikem Okeke (1942-1995), a Nigerian politician
  • Uzooma Okeke (b. 1970), Canadian football player
, president of UMPAN expressed his company's hopes of identifying and addressing common problems facing movie practitioners as well as contributing to nation building.
