Africa climate change monitoring station launchedThe African Union African Union (AU), international organization established in 2002 by the nations of the former Organization of African Unity (OAU). The AU is the successor organization to the OAU, with greater powers to promote African economic, social, and political integration, (AU) on Wednesday launched a satellite receiving station to track the effects of climate change on the world's poorest continent. The station, the first of its kind, is named AU-African Monitoring of the Environment for Sustainable Development Sustainable development is a socio-ecological process characterized by the fulfilment of human needs while maintaining the quality of the natural environment indefinitely.
