AfriOre Reports Individual Platinum Group Metals and Base Metals in Drill Hole ZF1 on the Akanani Platinum Project, South Africa.

BRIDGETOWN, Barbados -- AfriOre Limited (TSX:AFO) ("AfriOre") is pleased to announce the detailed assay results of platinum group metals and base metals for drill hole ZF1, the first hole completed on its Akanani Platinum Project in the Northern Limb of South Africa's Bushveld Complex.

In its press release dated March 1, 2005, AfriOre reported the combined assay results for platinum, palladium, rhodium and gold ("3 PGM+Au") for the intersection of multiple zones of high grade platinum group metal mineralization in drill hole ZF1. ZF1 is part of an initial 13,000 metre drilling program being conducted by AfriOre in the project area. Subsequent to that announcement, AfriOre has received further results for individual platinum group metals ("PGM"), nickel and copper and now reports the mean grades and intervals for each zone as follows:

Drillhole ZF1 was collared vertically in the southeastern part of the Akanani project area; some 800 metres from Anglo Platinum's Zwartfontein South open pit (refer to diagram in press release dated February 24, 2005). ZF1 penetrated Bushveld Complex Main Zone-type hangingwall stratigraphy comprising norites and minor anorthosites before intersecting the Platreef unit (refer to AfriOre press release dated February 24, 2005) from 1014 to 1246 metres, and terminating in footwall granofels rocks at a depth of 1289 metres. The higher grade intersections in the Platreef unit in ZF1 (tabulated above) comprise variable pyroxenitic and feldspathic pyroxenitic rocks containing varying concentrations of chromite, disseminated sulphides and associated PGM and base metal mineralization (refer to AfriOre's press release dated March 1, 2005). The very high grade intersection between 1,093.31 and 1,099.85 metres is associated with a chromite and sulphide-bearing pegmatoidal feldspathic pyroxenite.

The Platreef intersection zone was drilled in BQ core size (36mm diameter, not 46mm, as inadvertently stated in AfriOre's press release dated March 1, 2005) and half-core samples were cut by means of a diamond blade saw. Geological logging, sampling and core handling procedures, to ensure the integrity of samples of the Platreef unit in ZF1, were carried out under the supervision of Mr. Jonathan Woolfe (MSc Geology, Pr.Sci.Nat.), an independent consultant to AfriOre. Samples were prepared at Set Point sample preparation facility in Mokopane and analyzed for platinum, palladium, rhodium, gold, nickel, copper and cobalt by Set Point Technology laboratories in Johannesburg (ISO 17025 accredited and independent of AfriOre). PGM and gold fire assays were carried out using Pb collection/ICP, except for rhodium which used palladium collection. Nickel, copper, and cobalt analyses were carried out using aqua regia digestion/ICP and reflect acid-soluble metal content. QA/QC procedures included the submission by AfriOre of systematic duplicates, blanks and standard samples within the sample batches submitted to Set Point. In addition, selected pulverized sample duplicates were submitted to SGS  Lakefield Research Africa laboratories in Johannesburg (ISO 17025 accredited and independent of AfriOre) for referee analyses. As part of the ongoing program of detailed statistical analysis of comparative assay results (see AfriOre's press release dated March 1, 2005), Set Point has carried out additional, duplicate fire assays for individual platinum group metals on pulverized samples from the higher grade zones intersected in ZF1. The mean grades reported above have been recalculated accordingly, leading to nil or insignificant adjustment in all cases except for the zone from 1,093.31 to 1,099.85 metres, where the mean grade has increased from 19.83 to 23.65g/t Pt+Pd+Rh+Au.

The elevated nickel and copper contents of the high grade platinum group metal zones in drill hole ZF1 accord with the valuable base metal by-products recovered from the Platreef on the adjacent Anglo Platinum Corporation mining lease area. This increases AfriOre's confidence in the potential economic value of the Platreef mineralization on the Akanani project area.
