Afilias Announces Launch of New IDN Scripts for .INFO Domain.


DUBLIN, Ireland -- Afilias, a global provider of Internet domain name An organization's unique name on the Internet. These eight additional scripts join the German (DE) script that launched in 2004. The new scripts include: Polish (PL), Swedish (SV), Danish (DA), Hungarian (HU), Icelandic (IS), Latvian (LV), Lithuanian (LT), and Korean (KO).

Afilias' IDNs provide users with the ability to register their desired domain in their local language, using non-ASCII characters that previously did not work in Web browsers. Afilias' IDN registrations are based on the Punycode standard approved in 2003. .INFO was the first domain to automatically accept Punycode registrations in a gTLD when it launched the German script in 2004.
