The Home Office suspended removal directions on Farid and Feriba Ahmadi, who were to be flown to Germany today.

A spokesman said the decision was taken pending whether the couple get a judicial review.

The Ahmadis were removed by police from a mosque in Lye, West Midlands Lye is a suburban area of the Black Country in England, between Halesowen and Stourbridge in Dudley Metropolitan Borough, West Midlands. It was formerly a village in the parish of Oldswinford, Worcestershire. , last Thursday.

A family friend, who is looking after the couple's two young children, said: "We are hoping to reunite the family - this has been very stressful."
