Afghan Ambassador Visits Orange County Relief Organization Event to Raise Funds for Education and Humanitarian Aid to Afghanistan.
Afghanistan Relief Organization:
WHAT: The Afghanistan Relief Organization (ARO), a
California-based humanitarian organization, will host the
Afghan Ambassador to the United States, His Excellency
Said T. Jawad, at an annual fundraising event Friday,
Feb. 23, in Laguna Hills, CA. Joining Ambassador Jawad
is famed Afghan singer, Ustad Farida Mahwash--winner of
the Janis Joplin Award and BBC World Music Award--and
classical Afghan pianist Najib Malikyar.
WHO: ARO is a California-based 501c3, and an international
non-governmental organization (NGO). ARO provides basic
relief and education / self-sufficiency programs aiding
the recovery of Afghanistan. ARO is secular and non
political, with volunteers of all backgrounds and faiths.
