Business Editors

ST. PAUL, Minn.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--May 9, 2003

Minnesota's largest state-based credit union offers maximum

convenience and benefit to its more than 113,000 members

with free online bill pay services

Affinity Plus Federal Credit Union announced today the availability of free online bill pay. As the largest credit union in Minnesota with state-based assets in excess of $800 million, Affinity Plus is uniquely positioned to provide the most comprehensive suite of competitively priced financial products and services available. In a competitive review, Affinity Plus is a market leader with free online bill pay as most local financial institutions continue to charge from $4.50 to $6.50 per month for the convenience.

"We constantly strive to provide our members with the lowest cost, highest return financial products and services available," said Melissa Holtan, director of marketing for Affinity Plus. "In listening to our members and understanding their financial goals and life-balance needs, free online bill pay became a logical choice to help them easily and cost-effectively pay their bills electronically and manage their finances each month." Holtan went on to say that Affinity Plus is driven to do what's right for its members. "We embody a dynamic culture at Affinity Plus in that every decision is made with the overall impact to our members in mind. As a non-profit organization owned by our members, we are focused on identifying and offering products and services that truly benefit their overall financial well-being."

Any individual or organization interested in free online bill pay or learning more about the full-service financial offerings through Affinity Plus Federal Credit Union is encouraged to contact the nearest branch to learn more. Through a broad range of eligibility criteria, one in two Minnesotans automatically qualifies for membership. And for those who do not meet any of the criteria, membership is available through the Affinity Plus Foundation -- a non-profit organization chartered to promote sound personal financial education, understanding and management in Minnesota.
