Affiliated Group of Delta Dental Plans Report Strong Sales, Financial Gains in 2004.


SAN FRANCISCO -- The holding company system that includes Delta Dental of California, New York New York, state, United States

(the capital of the United States).  announced today its strong performance during fiscal year 2004.

The enterprise, which operates under a single, shared management structure led by President and CEO (1) (Chief Executive Officer) The highest individual in command of an organization. Radine, added some 800,000 enrollees based on 2004 sales, while retaining 97 percent of its existing customer base. Consolidated gross revenues for the enterprise reached nearly $4.5 billion, a gain of 4.5 percent over 2003.

Total enrollment for the combined enterprise stands at nearly 20 million subscribers and dependents.

Delta Dental of California and its two subsidiaries, PMI See Private Mortgage Insurance.  Dental Health Plan and Delta Dental Insurance Company, account for nearly 18 million of the enrollment total, and expect to add about 400,000 new enrollees in 2005 based on 2004 sales.

Delta Dental of Pennsylvania and its affiliates in Delaware, Maryland, New York Maryland is a town in Otsego County, New York, United States. The population was 1,920 at the 2000 census.

The Town of Maryland is on the county's south border, and was named for the U.S. state of the same name.
, West Virginia and the District of Columbia, added another $421 million in gross revenues. These mid-Atlantic-based affiliates now collectively cover 2.5 million subscribers and dependents. Like its west coast affiliates, Delta Dental of Pennsylvania will add about 400,000 new enrollees in 2005 based on last year's sales.

AM Best recently re-affirmed its "A-" (excellent) financial strength rating for the overall holding company system, an "A-" rating for Delta California, PMI and Delta Dental Insurance Company, and a "B+" (very good) for Delta Pennsylvania.

"We are mindful of the challenges our customers face due to the high cost of medical care, which is why we remain committed to holding rates as steady as possible while still increasing the value of the programs we administer," said Radine. "Looking ahead, we will be developing and marketing new kinds of benefit programs that will better fit the needs of those small businesses and individuals less able to afford dental benefits."
