Affiliated Computer Services announces four-year outsourcing contract with Mercury Marine.

DALLAS--(BUSINESS WIRE)--April 15, 1996--Affiliated Computer Services Inc. (NASDAQ/NM:ACSA), a leading information technology services company, announced today it signed a four-year agreement with Mercury Marine, a division of Brunswick Corporation (NYSE:BC), to provide outsourcing and facilities-management services to the manufacturer of marine engines. Financial terms of the agreement were not disclosed.

The outsourcing contract calls for ACS to operate Mercury Marine's mainframe computer system and to provide facilities-management services for Mercury Marine's local area networks, wide area networks (LAN/WAN) and PC desktop systems. Mercury Marine's computer network runs a range of business-critical functions, including order entry, manufacturing, general ledger and payroll.

ACS also will provide help desk services for all of Mercury Marine's North American operation. ACS will offer a consolidated help desk, servicing all of Mercury Marine's operating platforms. An additional part of the outsourcing agreement calls for ACS to assist Mercury Marine in its migration to a next-generation computer system. "ACS is proud to align itself with Mercury Marine. Earlier this month, ACS announced it had entered into an outsourcing agreement with Brunswick's US Marine division, a boating manufacturer. In August, ACS signed an outsourcing contract with Brunswick's Zebco division, the world's largest fishing tackle manufacturer. ACS currently is working with Zebco to provide outsourcing services to Nelson/Weather- Rite, a Roadmaster Industries Inc. division that Zebco acquired in March.
