Affiliated Computer Services Selects Transaction Network Services; More than 20,000 POS Terminals Enhanced by TNS' Transaction Processing and Data Network Services.

RESTON, Va. -- Transaction Network Services (TNS), Inc. (NYSE:TNS), a leading provider of business-critical network and data communications services for transaction-oriented applications, today announced that Affiliated Computer Services, Inc. (ACS), a premier provider of business process outsourcing and information technology solutions, has selected TNS to provide cohesive transaction processing networking for more than 20,000 point-of-service (POS) terminals across the United States.

ACS deploys thousands of POS terminals for processing Electronic Benefit Transfer (EBT) transactions across nine states, as well as 6,000 POS terminals across two states for Electronic Child Care programs used for time and attendance and remittance payments for vendors. EBT is the electronic system that allows a recipient to authorize transfer of their government benefits from a Federal account to a retailer account to pay for products received. EBT is currently being used in many States to issue food stamp and other benefits. EBT has been implemented in all States since June of 2004. In May of 2006, TNS processed millions of transactions on behalf of ACS.
