Affiliated Computer Services' subsidiary acquires Intellifile; Acquisition Strengthens Document Services Capabilities.

DALLAS--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Sept. 11, 1995--Dataplex Corporation, the leading provider of document services in the United States and a wholly-owned subsidiary of Affiliated Computer Services Inc. (NASDAQ: ACSA), announced today it has acquired Intellifile, a Dallas-based provider of advanced information and image management services.

Headquartered in Dallas, Texas, Dataplex has provided document management, archival and retrieval services for more than 25 years. The company's primary services include information and image capture, consulting, storage, protection and retrieval of critical business information.

The acquisition of Intellifile is a major expansion for Dataplex in the image and information management arena and adds state-of-the-art electronic imaging capabilities. Dataplex currently offers image processing, microfilm/fiche, storage and retrieval services.

Intellifile was established in 1987 to facilitate document image processing undertaken at Lomas Mortgage USA. With world-class professional services, technology and software platforms, as well as proven client/server imaging experience, Intellifile brings both core competencies and an application focus to ACS's existing, strong markets. Intellifile provides ACS with solid solution selling, consulting and systems integration skills, in addition to turn-key applications and product development and high-volume paper scanning capabilities.

Paul Carman, former chair of the board of the Association for Information and Image Management (AIIM), said that the acquisition of Intellifile by Dataplex will move Dataplex to a new realm within the imaging industry.
