Afferenz Expands Sales Team to Address Rapid Growth and Industry Adoption of Its Software and Services Offerings.

HERNDON, Va. -- Afferenz, a leading eClinical software and services company that addresses the information technology needs within the clinical trials environment, today announced the appointment of two members to its sales team. David Olson and Daniel Weddle, both veterans of the life sciences industry, join Afferenz following a strong year of global growth. In their roles as Directors of Business Development, each will continue to expand the Company's presence, cultivate client relationships, and grow sales.

David Olson brings more than 30 years of experience in the pharmaceutical and life sciences industry to his role at Afferenz focusing on pharmaceutical, biotechnology, and medical device sponsors. Prior to joining the Company, Olson served as a senior executive and business development advisor to a number of firms in the clinical research, e-trial, ECG core lab, data provider, commercial, manufacturing, IT and regulatory functional areas of the life sciences sector. Olson founded The Mediscope Corporation, a firm providing life sciences strategic planning, corporate development, and investment research services to leading pharmaceutical and biotechnology companies. In addition to holding a number of key advisory roles on several assignments within the U.S Government, Olson held the positions of Secretary of Health for the City of Philadelphia, Executive Director of the Philadelphia Health Research Fund, Project Manager for the Hospital Association of Pennsylvania, and President of the Northern Division of the Albert Einstein Medical Center in Philadelphia. Olson holds a Bachelor's degree and a Master's in Hospital Administration from the University of Minnesota.

Daniel Weddle brings more than 20 years of experience in contract clinical development to Afferenz, with an extensive background in operations and business development in all phases of clinical development. His entrepreneurial spirit led him to found SiteAvail, Inc., a company offering paper conversion services, document storage, HIPAA consultation services, and site communications tools and solutions for clinical development. Prior to SiteAvail, Weddle was the Senior Director of Business Development at LifeTree Technology, where he developed and executed a sales and marketing strategy focused on end-to-end process improvement in electronic data capture (EDC). Weddle also served in a variety of business development and sales and marketing roles with such companies as Averion, Inc., MDS Pharma, Pharmaceutical Research Plus, Inc., and Covance, and held clinical research positions at ICON Clinical Research and AAI Pharma. Weddle holds Bachelor's degrees in Biology and Economics from the University of Hartford.
