Affair Tory: No lovenest ban by wife; SCANDAL.Byline: JAMES LYONS James Lyons can refer to:
TORY MP David Curry David Maurice Curry (born June 13, 1944) British politician. He is the Conservative Member of Parliament for Skipton and Ripon. David Curry, the son of a teacher, was educated at the Ripon Grammar School where he was head boy in 1962, and then at Corpus Christi College, admitted his affair yesterday - but denied wife Anne had banned him from his taxpayer-funded lovenest. The ex-minister, 65, said there was "no point" refuting" his fling with Cherry Edwards four years ago. But he insisted Anne had not stopped him staying at the Yorkshire-trysts cottage on which he lavished pounds 30,000 of public money. The Skipton and Ripon MP, who quit as Commons expenses watchdog, says an inquiry will clear him. He is standing down at the next election from his seat where he now uses a Travelodge on visits. But he said: "My wife's not banned me anything." Anne just said at home in Saffron saffron, name for a fall-flowering plant (Crocus sativus) of the family Iridaceae (iris family) and also for a dye obtained therefrom. The plant is native to Asia Minor, where for centuries it has been cultivated for its aromatic orange-yellow stigmas (see Walden, Essex: "It's his problem. No comment."
