"Many of these are options that haven't been available to them from Aetna." Those options include open access plans that don't require referrals, as well as Aetna's portfolio of consumer-directed plans, including many that are compatible with health savings accounts A Health Savings Account (HSA) is a tax-advantaged medical savings account available to taxpayers in the United States who are enrolled in a High Deductible Health Plan (HDHP). The funds contributed to the account are not subject to federal income tax at the time of deposit. (HSAs). Aetna will market the plans to employers through insurance agents and brokers in Bradford, Clinton, Columbia, Lackawanna, Luzerne, Lycoming, Northumberland, Pike, Snyder, Sullivan, Susquehanna, Wayne and Wyoming counties. Northeastern Pennsylvania members will be able to receive care, at in-network rates, from Aetna's contracted network of 23 hospitals, 513 primary care physicians and 1,126 specialists.
