) is introducing a new set of affordable benefit options for part-time and hourly workers in Southeastern Pennsylvania, many of whom do not have access to group health insurance.

Beginning this month, the Aetna Affordable Health Choices Community Plans will be available to Pennsylvania employers with at least four employees. The plans feature limited-benefit coverage for medical, dental, life and accidental death and short-term disability, as well as discount cards for prescription drugs prescription drug Prescription medication Pharmacology An FDA-approved drug which must, by federal law or regulation, be dispensed only pursuant to a prescription–eg, finished dose form and active ingredients subject to the provisos of the Federal Food, Drug,  and vision care.

Aetna acquired SRC to enhance the scope of its products and services and increase its ability to serve new market segments.

The plans will be offered to new and present Aetna customers. They are designed for part-time employees who work less than 25 hours per week, seasonal employees and employees who are serving a waiting period for their company's benefits.

Workers in these categories often have no access to health insurance, said Patrick Young, head of Aetna's small group business in the Mid-Atlantic Region. "The new Aetna plans provide coverage for many of people's most frequent health care expenses," said Young.
