Aetna (NYSE:AET) today announced that Leonard Abramson, 67, has resigned from the Board of Directors.

Mr. Abramson noted, "I regret that the constraints of my current business schedule do not allow me to continue my service on Aetna's Board of Directors. I have enjoyed my time on the Board and believe the company is well-positioned as the leading healthcare benefits company in the U.S."

"Len Abramson is a managed care pioneer who founded and nurtured a great company.
