"UC Davis Medical Group has been a long-standing participant in Aetna's traditional network, and we are pleased that our HMO members now have the same access to UC Davis Medical Center and its affiliated physicians."

More than 150 primary care physicians and 450 specialist physicians are affiliated with UC Davis Medical Group, located throughout the community and on the UC Davis Medical Center campus in Sacramento.

"We are happy to welcome all of Aetna's patients into the UC Davis Medical Group, including those who are in the HMO plan," said Nabil Musallam, senior associate director for hospital and clinics at UC Davis Health System. "They'll find terrific primary care physicians and also enjoy the collective expertise of health-care professionals throughout our entire health system."

Aetna has 5,878 participating physicians and 67 participating hospitals in its Central Valley network, and 90,944 physicians and 552 hospitals participating statewide.
