Aethlon Medical Announces Government Research Collaborations.

SAN DIEGO -- Aethlon Medical, Inc. (OTCBB:AEMD), a pioneer in developing therapeutic devices for infectious disease, announced today that research related to the Aethlon Hemopurifier([R]) as a potential treatment for Ebola Hemorrhagic Fever (EHF) has been initiated at The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). EHF is classified as a category "A" bioterror threat presently untreatable with antiviral drug and vaccine therapy. According to the World Health Organization (WHO), EHF causes death in 50-90% of all clinically ill cases. The CDC is recognized globally for its research initiatives to prevent and control infectious disease. It operates as a primary component of the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS), the principal agency in the United States government for protecting the health and safety of all Americans.

Aethlon Medical also disclosed that the scope of these studies has been expanded to include researchers at The United States Army Medical Research Institute of Infectious Diseases (USAMRIID). USAMRIID is the lead medical research laboratory of the U.S. Biological Defense Research Program. The Institute plays a key role as the only laboratory in the Department of Defense (DOD) equipped to study Ebola and other highly hazardous infectious agents requiring maximum containment at bio-safety level (BLS)-4. Research data obtained from these studies will be included in Aethlon's regulatory submissions to the U.S. Food & Drug Administration (FDA).
