The announcement follows the recent introduction by Research In Motion Limited (Nasdaq: RIMM (Rambus Inline Memory Module) See RDRAM. See also RIM. ) of BlackBerry Enterprise Edition(TM) for Lotus Notes Messaging and groupware software from IBM Lotus that was introduced in 1989 for OS/2 and later expanded to Windows, Mac, Unix, NetWare, AS/400 and S/390. Notes provides e-mail, document sharing, workflow, group discussions and calendaring and scheduling.  and Domino users at the Lotusphere user conference in Orlando.

With this extension to Lotus Notes and Domino users, the market for BlackBerry by Aether solution is expanded dramatically by approximately doubling the number of enterprise customers that will now have the ability to stay wirelessly connected to their corporate email.

BlackBerry by Aether provides an integrated package of hardware, software, airtime and customer service that gives enterprise customers reliable wireless email access in the palm of their hand. Expanding BlackBerry by Aether to customers with Lotus Domino and Notes allows Aether to better serve existing customers and at the same time reach out to an even greater pool of corporate customers seeking wireless connectivity. Making the solution available to a broader audience effectively and strategically extends Aether's mission to offer its enterprise customers the best available wireless solutions.
