Other New Features of ScoutSync and ScoutIT v.4.0 include:
-- Management API's: ScoutIT 4.0 has added a Simple Network Management Protocol
(SNMP) agent, which allows administrators to manage wireless devices using
existing enterprise management products

-- Persistent Installs of Applications: Allows system administrators to set up
profiles for specific users, ensuring that the appropriate applications are
maintained on the device for the user each time the device syncs back to the
server. This component also ensures that the most current versions of
applications assigned to PDAs are always on the device.

-- PocketPC DPA: Desktop Proxy Agents (DPAs) allow for more efficient building
of synchronization applications.

-- Security: Up to four levels of encryption security including DES, TripleDES,
RC4-128, and RSA-128 are available to secure communications between the
wireless device and the server.

-- Certificate support: Validation of server by Palm devices via Public Key
Infrastructure (PKI) certificates.
