Aestiva HTML/OS Database Engine Safe From Slammer Attack.

TORRANCE, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Jan. 29, 2003

Aestiva announced today that all Aestiva products are safe from the "Slammer A worm that caused a billion dollars worth of damage on the Internet on January 25, 2003. Slammer infected computers all over the Internet by generating random IP addresses and causing the computer's buffer to overflow with its own instructions that replicate itself and start the process " virus. Although hundreds of thousands of companies fell victim to the self-propagating virus, Aestiva's entire product line is safe from the virus and has zero reports of security problems.

"We do not rely on questionable security architecture," said D.M. Silverberg, Aestiva's Director of Technology. The world-wide "Slammer" virus attack is the latest in a long line of viruses to penetrate Microsoft's security infrastructure. "Aestiva products are Microsoft-free," says Silverberg. "We've established a squeaky-clean record on security."
