Aesculap Awarded Wound Closure Agreement with Amerinet, National GPO.


Agreement Offers Significant Costs Savings to Sutures & Tissue Adhesive Products

ST. LOUIS -- Aesculap announced today that is has been awarded supplier agreements with Amerinet, a national health care group purchasing organization A group purchasing organization is an entity that leverages the purchasing power of a group of businesses to obtain discounts from vendors based on the collective buying power of the GPO members. Many GPOs are funded by administrative fees that are actually paid by the vendors. . The two agreements, effective February 1, 2008 through January 31, 2011, provides Amerinet's more than 2,000 acute care members access to Aesculap's high-quality sutures and Histoacryl[TM] tissue adhesive products.

While a supplier on the previous contract for sutures, this new contract extends to Amerinet members access to one of Aesculap's latest wound closure products - - - Histoacryl tissue adhesive. Approved by the FDA FDA
