Aerospace Deal: Boeing Co. has awarded Northrop Grumman Northrop Grumman Corporation (NYSE: NOC) is an aerospace and defense conglomerate that is the result of the 1994 purchase of Grumman by Northrop. The company is the third largest defense contractor for the U.S.  Corp. a $3.2 billion multi-year contract to continue production on the Navy's F/A-18 Super Hornet hornet: see wasp.  strike fighter. As the main F/A-18 subcontractor to Boeing, Northrop makes the fuselage and twin vertical tails and integrates all associated subsystems at its El Segundo facility. The company delivers components to Boeing's Integrated Defense Systems Integrated Defense Systems may refer to:
  • Boeing Integrated Defense Systems
  • Raytheon Integrated Defense Systems
 facility in St. Louis for final assembly.
