Aeroports de Paris Celebrates The Galerie Parisienne's One-Millionth Passenger.

ROISSY, France -- Inaugurated last June 26, The Galerie Parisienne has just crossed the symbolic threshold of one million passengers.

Luck favoured an American passenger arriving at 9:15 am from Cincinnati on Delta Airlines flight DL044.

A few minutes before landing, the Delta Airlines flight captain announced that the one-millionth passenger was someone on board the plane.

The passengers were welcomed with music and clapping by Aeroports de Paris personnel. Cafe waiters, tray in hand, served them a "French breakfast" of coffee, fresh baguette bread, croissants,...

They also received a "Parisian's kit" consisting of a map of Paris and the Metro, and in view of the Rugby World Cup currently underway, a French team supporter's beret.

The airport's managing director Mr. Rene Brun handed the Galerie Parisienne's one-millionth passenger a Magnum of champagne, a voucher for dinner for two at the Les Ombres restaurant of the Quai Branly Museum and a pass to view Paris from the river by bateau mouche. All gifts were donated by two of the Aeroports de Paris boutiques retailers (Elior and Aelia).

Aeroports de Paris personnel then accompanied the winner to a limousine that took them into Paris.

"This event confirms our desire to give customer satisfaction high priority at Aeroports de Paris. The Galerie Parisienne used by Air France-KLM and its partners (Skyteam) has met with approval from the customers, in particular for the new services provided by Aeroports de Paris," states Rene Brun, managing director of Paris-Charles de Gaulle airport.

Terminal 2E's all-new boarding satellite, the biggest in France, has been ramping up its operation since its opening. Initially handling only some 10 outbound and 15 inbound flights in its first week, it is currently operating over 50 flights (outbound and inbound combined).

After not quite two months of activity, the Aeroports de Paris shops have also broken a record with the sale within a few days of the first 1985 Chateau Petrus for almost EU2,000.
