Aeroflex signs multi-year agreements with GM Hughes.

: ARX) today announced that its microelectronics microelectronics, branch of electronic technology devoted to the design and development of extremely small electronic devices that consume very little electric power.  division, consisting of Aeroflex Circuit Technology and the recently acquired MIC Technology, signed multi-year volume purchase agreements with GM Hughes with a potential value in excess of $14,000,000.

These agreements make Aeroflex a key strategic vendor for Hughes' space microelectronics.

The microelectronic devices covered by the agreements are for use on both commercial and military communications Military communications, or Signals, is a field of military activities, tactics and equipment dealing with communications. First of all, military communications are battlefield (combat) communications, including intercommunication with a higher command or country's  satellites and missile systems. Initial releases in excess of $5,000,000 have been received and are expected to be shipped over the next twelve months. The agreements cover periods of up to three years.

Aeroflex Inc., headquartered in Plainview, Long Island, designs and manufactures advanced electronics systems and components, including microelectronic circuits and interconnect (1) To attach one device to another.
