AeroMexico Implements Service Fee on Processing of Paper Tickets.

HOUSTON--(BUSINESS WIRE)--April 23, 2004

Effective May 11, 2004, AeroMexico will implement a service fee of $20 (US) for passengers that elect to have their itinerary issued as a paper ticket in lieu of electronic ticketing, when available. The new policy is applicable to all AeroMexico tickets issued in the United States United States, officially United States of America, republic (2005 est. pop. 295,734,000), 3,539,227 sq mi (9,166,598 sq km), North America. The United States is the world's third largest country in population and the fourth largest country in area. , including those for flights operated by the airline's code-share partners.

AeroMexico's new paper ticket policy is in step with similar policies introduced by other U.S. domestic and international carriers, in an effort to encourage consumer usage of electronic ticketing, which allows for the prompt and cost-effective processing of ticket itineraries.

Electronic ticketing is widely available for U.S. booking, and is also currently available for all AeroMexico domestic flights booked within Mexico. The airline has also expanded its electronic ticketing capabilities for customers booking flights to Chile, Brazil and Peru. Electronic ticketing is currently not available for flights operated by Aerolitoral originating out of the U.S. Paper ticket processing is not available on Faresaver flights, and other online bookings made through www.aeromexico.com.

Those who book their travel directly through AeroMexico on or after May 11 and request a paper ticket itinerary in lieu of an electronic ticket, will be advised of the additional fee and charged at the time of booking. Travel agents are required to collect the processing fee as a "Miscellaneous Charge Order" or MCO MCO Managed care organization, see there , which must also include the ticket number, noted in the MCO's "issued in connection with" box.
