In presenting the endowment, Ms. Toy said, "I want to help the young people of tomorrow. Requirements for the endowment state that the scholarships are to be awarded to junior and senior high school students who might otherwise not pursue post-secondary education. One criterion for the scholarships is that they be "awarded without regard to race, gender, ethnic background or local residence." Through her endowment, Ms. Toy, a longtime education advocate, will provide students with a competitive edge in education they wouldn't otherwise have. Two $2,500 scholarships will be awarded annually with monies derived from income on the Fund's principal.

The distinction between the Toy scholarships and the nearly 20-year-old ACSC scholarships is that the Club's current scholarships are awarded to students who have already committed to advanced education at aviation/aerospace-related schools, while the Marsha Toy Scholarships will benefit high school students who are now in the process of making career decisions.
