Aer Lingus inaugurates Ireland flights from Chicago; Flight also marks O'Hare Airport's first Airbus A330 scheduled operation.


CHICAGO--(BUSINESS WIRE)--May 1, 1996--Aer Lingus today begins scheduled flights to Ireland from O'Hare International Airport O'Hare International Airport is an airport located in Chicago, Illinois, United States, 17 miles (27 km) northwest of the Chicago Loop. The Irish airline thus resumes year-round passenger services linking the U.S. midwest with Ireland and adds to its existing cargo freighter operations.

Roundtrip airfares from Chicago begin at $678 to Shannon and the cooperative agreement with United Airlines makes connections to Aer Lingus flights -- particularly from California -- especially hassle-free.

Aer Lingus will operate from O'Hare's modern International Terminal No. 5.
