Aetna Index Plus Protection Fund differs from the previous Aetna Principal Protection Funds in that, after the Guarantee Period, an enhanced index strategy is employed. During the Index Plus Large Cap period, the Fund seeks to attain better-than-index (S&P 500) performance with index-like characteristics by selecting stocks in the S&P 500 Index that Aeltus' management team believes will outperform the Index and underweighting or eliminating those stocks the team believes will underperform the Index. With the addition of this Index Plus Large Cap Period, investors do not have to liquidate their holdings at the end of the Guarantee Period.
