The center is launching its next victim advocate training session with training scheduled for Sept. 19, 21, 26, and 28. The volunteer application deadline is Aug. 30.

Established in 1994, the center works to reduce the impact of the criminal justice system on child crime victims, and refers children and their families to community resources to help them recover from a crime.

Volunteer advocates are the first contact that children and families have at the center. Advocates provide a warm, hospitable hos·pi·ta·ble

Volunteer applicants must be at least 18 years old and able to pass a criminal background check. They also must be willing to commit eight hours per week for a one-year adj. 1. completing its life cycle within a year.
