Advocacy Center for persons with disabilities board needs lawyers.


The Advocacy Center for Persons with Disabilities, Inc., is seeking lawyers to serve on its board of directors.

The center is a statewide organization designated to serve as the federally mandated protection and advocacy system for persons with disabilities. The center receives federal funding to provide both legal and nonlegal Adj. 1. nonlegal - not regulated or sanctioned by law; "there were only extralegal recourses for their grievances"

 advocacy and does so through a staff of 60, located in offices in Tallahassee Tallahassee (tăləhăs`ē), city (1990 pop. 124,773), state capital and seat of Leon co., NW Fla.; inc. 1825. Tallahassee is a wholesale trade and distribution center for the surrounding lumber, livestock, and agricultural area. , Tampa, and Hollywood.

Fundraising
 is not required. Because a core function of the Advocacy Center is to serve as a public interest law firm, the board's nominating committee A nominating committee is a group formed usually from inside the membership of an organization for the purpose of nominating candidates for office within the organization. It works similarly to an electoral college, the main difference being that the available candidates, either  seeks to fill several board vacancies with lawyers.
