Advisory board on Horizon; leading edge.


AN advisory board has been launched for Codeworks GamesHorizon, a collaborative network for the North-East's games industry.

Darren Jobling, director of business development at award-winning North Eastern driving game specialist Eutechnyx, has been named as chairman of the new board, which will meet throughout the year to discuss the way ahead for the region's games companies.

Also sitting on the board are: Nick Rooke, European account manager for Sony Computer Entertainment Europe (SCEE SCEE Sony Computer Entertainment Europe )' Phil Scott, lead developer and technology evangelist Not to be confused with televangelist.

A technical or technology evangelist is a person whose job or role is to promote technologies, usually new technologies.
 at NVIDIA, a worldwide leader in programmable graphics processor technologies' Simon Prytherch, head of development at Empire Interactive, a leading international games publisher with offices in the UK, France, Germany, Spain and the US' and Darren Falcus Darren Falcus has been a creator of video games from the age of 14, and had his first game published in 1983 (Castle of Doom, Dragon 32). He started his first game development company with his brother Jason Falcus aged 17 (Optimus Software Ltd) and went on to sell the company to US , managing director of Middlesbrough-based developer Atomic Planet Entertainment.

The advisory board will reinforce GameHorizon's existing links with the appointed companies.
