Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger has appointed Carol Biondi, Winston Peters and Maria Rochart to the Advisory Committee on Juvenile Justice and Delinquency. Biondi serves on the Los Angeles County Commission for Children and Families, Peters is assistant public defender public defender n. an elected or appointed public official (usually of a county), who is an attorney regularly assigned by the courts to defend people accused of crimes who cannot afford a private attorney. In larger counties the public defender has a large case load, numerous deputy public defenders and office staff. for Los Angeles County and Rochart is executive director of New Horizons Family Center in Glendale.
