Advertising firms merge to become region's largest

Gerald McEachern, one of Henderson's two partners, said his company was attracted to Delta because it had made an impressive dent in the local advertising market in a short period of time.

McEachern said Ben Farella, Delta's former owner and now vice-president of the new company, has made an impressive name for himself in the industry.

Farella will continue to manage the Sudbury office, but all executive decisions will be made jointly by Farella, McEachern and partner Jim Payetta.

McEachern said the new company is positioned to serve the entire Northern Ontario market. He said the market has become more competitive as Toronto advertising firms look noth in response to aggressive competition in southern Ontario from U.S. agencies.

The purchase price of Delta Advertising and Design was not disclosed.
