Adventist Health System to Acquire La Grange Memorial Hospital.


WINTER PARK, Fla.--(BW HealthWire)--Aug. 20, 1998--Adventist Health System announced today that it has signed a definitive agreement to purchase La Grange La Grange (lə grānj).

When the acquisition is completed, the hospital will become part of Adventist Health System's Midwest Region, joining three other suburban-Chicago facilities: Hinsdale Hospital (Hinsdale), GlenOaks Hospital (Glendale Heights) and Bolingbrook Medical Center (Bolingbrook). Chippewa Valley The Chippewa Valley was first inhabited by the Ojibwe Indians and settled by German and Scandinavian immigrants. The region also has a large Hmong community. While the term "Chippewa Valley" technically refers to the drainage basin of the Chippewa River and its tributaries, the  Hospital (Durand, Wis.) also is part of the Midwest Region.

No changes are planned in the hospital's primary role. "La Grange Memorial will continue to function as a community-based, acute care hospital," said Ernie W. The sale, pending regulatory approvals, is anticipated to close sometime in the fourth quarter.
