Dianne M. Orbison, vice president, investment products, Advantus Capital Management, is one of eight women named to the inaugural 2001 list of Twin Cities Top Women in Finance by Finance & Commerce, a local daily newspaper. Advantus is the asset management subsidiary of Minnesota Life The Minnesota Life Insurance Company was founded in St. Paul, Minnesota in 1880 as a mutual insurance company. It was originally organized as a mutual because a general distrust of stockholder-owned businesses prevailed at that time and there was a shortage of people willing to buy  Insurance Company, St. Paul, MN.
