Advantica Restaurant Group Selects ReMACS Back Office and Headquarters for 1400-plus Company Operated Restaurants.

PLEASANTON, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--April 27, 1998--Advantica Restaurant Group, Inc., one of the largest restaurant companies in the U.S., has selected the ReMACS Back Office and Corporate Office Systems from Radiant Hospitality Systems to achieve greater management efficiencies and operational controls for its 1400+ U.S.-based sites. The company operates full service and quick service restaurants including Denny's, Quincy's Family Steakhouse, El Pollo Loco, Coco's and Carrows.

Advantica Restaurant Group has placed great emphasis on the importance of information technology to augment and facilitate communications among its many diverse restaurant operations. That strategy now includes a centralized management system, from Radiant Hospitality Systems, to better measure performance on a store-by-store basis, consolidate reporting for the entire chain, streamline procedures, improve food and labor cost controls, and isolate issues that need immediate attention.

For Advantica Restaurant Group, the search for a comprehensive food service technology application actually began over one year ago. One of the driving factors was the Year 2000 issue, and the desire to unify business processes for its restaurants. In the final analysis, Advantica selected Radiant Hospitality Systems' ReMACS application for its comprehensive functionality, wide market acceptance, full corporate configuration for store analysis, and ease of use.

"We really liked the thought process that went into building the ReMACS product because it helps guide our restaurant managers through their various business activities," Bird said. Advantica Restaurant Group is currently working with Radiant Hospitality Systems to configure and integrate ReMACS with their POS platform. The company expects to install its first ReMACS systems in September, followed by a systemwide rollout starting in early 1999. The ReMACS applications address inventory control, food cost analysis, time and attendance, labor scheduling, business forecasting and financial management, as well as complete integration to the company's POS systems. The Corporate Office System includes full corporate configuration management for managing the flow of new or modified database information to the stores from corporate; and a corporate office management component allows data to be imported from the store level, and provides the ability to create and run consolidated reports.
