Advantica Issues Final Extension of Exchange Offer for FRD Notes.


SPARTANBURG, S.C.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Dec. 14, 1998--Advantica Restaurant Group, Inc. (Nasdaq: DINE) today announced that it is issuing its final extension of its previously announced offer to exchange, for each $1,000 principal amount of 12 1/2% Senior Notes Due 2004 of its wholly-owned subsidiary, FRD FRD Ford (street type)

The Offer was originally scheduled to expire as of 5:00 p.m. Eastern Time, Friday, December 11, 1998, and was initially extended to 5:00 p.m. Eastern Time, Monday, December 14, 1998.

The Exchange Agent reports that approximately $21 million aggregate principal amount of the FRD Notes have been tendered to date. Among other conditions, the Offer is conditioned upon the valid tender of at least a majority of the $156,897,000 principal amount of the FRD Notes outstanding.
