Advantest Shows Event Based Tester in Munich.

MUNICH, Germany -- Advantest Technology Solutions (ATES) a new subsidiary of the Advantest Corporation (TOKYO:6857) (NYSE:ATE), will demonstrate at the DATE conference Certimax (tm), a new semiconductor design verification system utilizing event-based test technology.

Driven by the consumer electronics and broadband markets, SoCs evolve continually to combine more and more functions on a single chip. The sheer complexity of their designs means that the design verification process is a heavy burden for their manufacturers.

With the goal of lightening this burden, Advantest has established the wholly owned subsidiary to develop and sell testers utilizing event-based test technology, bridging the design-to-test gap by utilizing data from the design environment "as is" at the validation stage of the process.

ATES was established by the Advantest America R&D Center (ARD) to develop and promote testers employing the event-based approach is expected to accelerate its spread. The company forecasts sales for the new subsidiary of $84 million by fiscal 2007.
