Advantec Establishes Mirror Production Alternate Operations Site.

TAMPA, Fla. -- Advantec, a national provider of managed human resource services, announced today the completion of a multi-million dollar hardware upgrade to its technology systems and the creation of a high security technology center. In this extensive upgrade Advantec has partnered with SunGard(R), the most recognized disaster recovery vendor in the industry, to provide exceptional protection for Advantec clients.

In the unlikely event that a disaster requires the company's Tampa operations to move to another location, Advantec has an alternate operations site in Atlanta which is maintained in a hardened and fully redundant facility able to sustain Category-5 forces. Advantec co-locates all system data to this site through a connection that allows for mirror production of all data. Advantec's data replication system is constantly updated to ensure that clients will experience minimal interruption of services should the Tampa operations site be affected by an extended power loss.

The center contains a Powerware Uninterruptible Power Supply See UPS.

which protects Advantec's entire infrastructure from power interruptions or surges. Through this new system, Advantec can maintain a 99.5% up-time rate on all critical business systems. Advantec's entire processing facility is wired to a generator via an automatic transfer switch An automatic transfer switch is a device used to automatically switch a power supply from normal(utility) to emergency(generator) when a power failure occurs. . The generator will sustain Advantec's systems indefinitely with refueling.

The system upgrade was designed with a focus on client support. Features of the new system include built-in redundancies, fault tolerance See fault tolerant.
