DALLAS--(BUSINESS WIRE)--June 4, 2002

Brands Using Sales and Marketing Agencies Will be Able to Synchronize

With Their Trading Partners

The viaLink Company (OTCBB:VLNK) said today that Advantage Sales & Marketing -- Southeast Region had selected viaLink for data synchronization, and that the new business relationship is a significant industry breakthrough -- bringing the power of multi-tier synchronization to the agency and the brands it represents.

The Tampa, Fla.-based regional office represents household brand names such as M&M Mars, Bordens, Mt. Olive and hundreds of other brands. "Advantage Sales & Marketing intends to remain the leader in the agency community by providing our clients with advanced commercial services like syncLink," said Mike Sunderland, president of Advantage Sales & Marketing -- Southeast Region.

"Sales and marketing agencies are the preferred go-to-market model for many consumer packaged goods companies, and represent products accounting for 65-70 percent of all supermarket sales (Source: Association of Sales & Marketing Companies)," said Warren D. Jones, viaLink's chief executive officer. "viaLink, working with the UCCnet, is addressing both the business needs of trading partners and the inherent complexity of a multi-tiered market. The industry has been looking for this kind of solution for a long time and we're excited about launching it with a progressive company like Advantage Sales & Marketing."

The two companies will also co-market syncLink service to Advantage Sales & Marketing -- Southeast Region's extensive customer base, starting with suppliers serving Winn-Dixie Stores.

syncLink's accurate trading information and connectivity allow retailers, agencies and suppliers to leverage their legacy systems for e-commerce, and provides an easy entree to collaborative supply chain solutions. The immediate benefit of synchronization is quantifiable: A GMA/FMI study using syncLink reduced item mismatches by 100% and invoice deductions by 69%. The customer service benefits follow -- better product selections, availability and pricing.
