Advani demands inquiry into Mumbai terror attacks.

New Delhi, Jan.30 (ANI): Senior Bharatiya Janata Party leader Lal Krishna Advani on Friday called for an inquiry into the last year's Mumbai terror attacks besides demanding the setting up of an inquiry commission on the lines of the United States' RAND Corporation (Research and Development).

Advani also said that the government should also have an organization on the lines of United States's RAND Corporation (Research and Development), a think tank formed to offer research and analysis to the armed forces.

"I think we need to have an inquiry into the entire issue (Mumbai attack). It is not appreciable that we do not have any inquiry into the matter. An inquiry should be put in place immediately, it is high time. And the way America has RAND Corporation preparing reports, even India needs to have a similar commission of enquiry," said Advani after meeting a cyclist, Vinod Punia, who has come all the way from Mumbai to New Delhi to pay homage to the attack victims.

Ahead of the upcoming General Elections, the BJP has been putting pressure on the ruling Congress-led United Progressive Alliance government, to mount pressure on Pakistan to bring the perpetrators of the Mumbai terror attacks to justice here.

RAND Corporation is think tank formed to offer research and analysis to the armed forces.

The RAND Corporation, for over 60 years, has pursued its non-profit mission by conducting research on important and complicated problems. Initially, RAND (the name of which was derived from a contraction of the term research and development) focused on issues of national security.

Eventually, RAND expanded its intellectual reserves to offer insight into other areas, such as business, education, health, law, and science. (ANI)
