Advancements in Windscreen Design Forcing Rethink of Wiper Engineering.

DUBLIN, Ireland -- Research and Markets (http://www.researchandmarkets.com/reports/c44858) has announced the addition of Global Market Review of Automotive Wiper Systems eI Forecasts to 2012 to their offering.

New trends in glazing, cost constraints and high demand for product reliability are driving the wipers

Superficially, wiper blades appear the same today as they did when the first electrically-powered windscreen wiper system appeared in 1926. However, appearances can be deceptive. Lack of space under the bonnet, cost constraints, product reliability, aerodynamic drag aer`o`dy`nam´ic drag

, looks, pedestrian impact legislation and technical innovations in the rest of the control system, such as CAN Bus, are the main forces driving innovation in wiper systems.

Use of panoramic glazing also has implications for wiper manufactures as certain windscreens may not be compatible with efficient operation of the vehicleeIUs wipers and rain-sensing equipment. In this situation, the manufacturer has to consider designing in a compromise or a special wiper system just to cope with the special windscreen; explaining the delay in producing the Opel Astra

Denso executives say the automotive market demands continuous improvements in windshield wiper systems, including reductions in size and weight. In addition to improvements in basic wiping performance, there is also a need for qualitative enhancements in the appearance of exterior parts. Reductions in weight and size and the improvement of exterior appearance are also priorities for windscreen washer windscreen washer, windshield washer (US) nlavaparabrisas m inv

systems. Another requirement, say Denso executives, is the improvement of cleaning efficiency to reduce the amount of fluid used by washer systems.

In this, the third edition of this report, we review the key market drivers for automotive wiper systems, addressing a number of issues, including:

- What are the main factors pushing innovations in wiper systems in terms of front wiper blade, wiper arm Noun 1. wiper arm - contact consisting of a conducting arm that rotates over a series of fixed contacts and comes to rest on an outlet

- How is the flat wiper blade market shaping up?

- Can we expect to see more wiper blades being controlled by electronic drive units?

Chapter 2 eI The market. Since the early 1990s, the glazing area in vehicles has increased by about 25%; this chapter begins by explaining the implications that changes of this nature have on wiper designs. It also looks at replacement rates and how they can vary by region, identifies the major market players, provides market share figures, and predicts in some detail how the market for wiper blades will evolve in Western Europe Western Europe
