[ILLUSTRATION OMITTED] HERE'S WHAT YOU CAN DO TO CARE FOR THE ACH ... Inspect * Look over the helmet for gouges, cracks or scrapes that go below the paint surface. See if the edging is loose, split or cut. [ILLUSTRATION OMITTED] * Inspect the chin strap webbing for cuts, tears or ripped stitching. [ILLUSTRATION OMITTED] * Look at the chin strap. Is the hardware worn, cracked, loose or missing? [ILLUSTRATION OMITTED] * Look for damage to the pads. If the outer fabric is torn and the inner foam exposed, replace the pad. [ILLUSTRATION OMITTED] * If you find anything you can't fix, take it to unit maintenance for repair. They can replace the chin strap webbing, hardware and pads. It also makes the chin strap more comfortable to wear and easier to adjust. * Rinse them thoroughly with clean water and let them air dry. Do not machine dry. You could shrink the fabric or damage the pads. * Wash the ACH shell the same way, with cold water and detergent. Then rinse it with clean water and let it air dry. * Use a small nail brush or toothbrush toothbrush, n a handheld device with an arrangement of bristles at one end, and a handle designed to reach effectively all exposed surfaces of the teeth and gingiva. to clean dirt and debris from the hook disks on the inside of the shell.
