Los Angeles Cellular Telephone Company recently announced the introduction of the first and only fully-digital cellular calling service in Southern California Southern California, also colloquially known as SoCal, is the southern portion of the U.S. state of California. Digital SST will dramatically increase L.A.'s system capacity, laying the foundation for continued cellular growth in Los Angeles, the carphone capital of the nation.

In the near future, Digital SST will deliver such benefits as E-mail delivery, message-waiting notification, full pager integration, distinctive ringing, priority system access and encryption The reversible transformation of data from the original (the plaintext) to a difficult-to-interpret format (the ciphertext) as a mechanism for protecting its confidentiality, integrity and sometimes its authenticity.
